Solo Five Day Hunting Bushcraft

For more Bushcraft resources - http:www.mcqbushcraft.co.ukFollow me on Twitter - http:www.twitter.comMCQBushcraftThis is a documentary style video covering four of the five days I spent hunting, foraging and practicing buhscraft skills in some woodland by the coastline. For a rough guide on the gear I used - https:www.youtube.comwatch?v=uFsFbRO-n9EThe neck knife was a gift from a knife maker called 'Patrick' and his channel name is 'The Angus Knives' - he makes knives to order and the one i used was a skinning blade. The large blade knife that I use is called an 'ESEE 6'The boots are 'Jack Pyke Tundra Waterproof Boots' they are very water resistant but died shortly after this trip (lasted six months) I would not recommend them. The Ivy all around me is not Poison Ivy, its Common English Ivy. The Shotgun is a Fausti 12 Bore, 3" chambers with 28 inch Barrels. Thanks for watching, Mike

Making a Leather EDC Pouch for a Leatherman Wave, bits and extras

http:ianatkinson.netleathervideos.htmIf you have found the collection of leatherwork videos helpful and would like to send me a small donation there are details on how you can do so as well as info on the videos in the link above! There is also information on there about shops as well as a gallery of my work and other info. This video has been re-uploaded with some or all of the audio removed to avoid problems with dishonest companies making unfounded copyright claims. In this video I am making a pouch for a Leatherman Wave, a set of Leatherman bits, a Fisher Space Pen and a Fenix E05 torch. It also has a snap off belt loop to allow it to go on and off the belt easily. The idea behind this was not to fight the lumps that like to spring up when wet forming but to encourage them and use them in the design. The two little ridges that I formed stop the torch or pen from dropping out of their tubes (although they're a good fit anyway!).

Leather Build Along 3 Moleskine Covers

http:ianatkinson.netleathervideos.htmIf you have found the collection of leatherwork videos helpful and would like to send me a small donation there are details on how you can do so as well as info on the videos in the link above! There is also information on there about shops as well as a gallery of my work and other info. This is the third build along video, if you would like to buy the pattern used in this video it's available here in the leather patterns section:http:www.etsy.comshopLeodisLeatherIn this video we are making Moleskine notebookjournal covers. The video covers both the large hardback notebook (13x21cm, 240 pages) and the small hardback notebook (9x14cm, 192 pages). The pattern pack gives some guidance on designing covers for other sizes of notebook as well.Because this is a good beginners' project I have gone back over some of the basics, feel free to skip over these steps if you are more confident. Please remember you're getting a 45 minute HD instruction video with the pattern, if I released that as a DVD like some people do it would cost you a lot more ... I think it's great value :)If you visit the link at the top for my videos page you will see everything indexed and organised on there, that's the easiest way to find your way about now that there are quite a lot of videos. Here is the index:00:00 Intro 03:29 Step 1 04:15 Step 2 07:20 Step 3 07:41 Step 4 09:29 Step 5 09:45 Step 6 11:06 Step 7 12:14 Step 8 13:37 Step 9 16:47 Step 10 18:58 Step 11 20:47 Step 12 21:48 Step 13 25:50 Step 14 26:22 Step 15 27:00 Step 16 29:37 Step 17 31:33 Step 18 34:11 Step 19 35:38 Step 20 38:57 Step 21

There is also information on there about shops as well as a gallery of my work and other info. In this video I first talk about Hedgehog Leatherworks' pricing since many people feel it's too expensive (I don't!), and I then go on to make myself a Hedgehog style sheath for my SOG Desert Dagger. The first bit is blurry sorry, I filmed it on my iPhone and it just didn't focus properly! It was too long to do again. The two songs are 'Slow Burn' and 'Whisky on the Mississippi' by Kevin MacLeod and are royalty free to use from his website:http:incompetech.commcroyalty-freeindex.html?genre=BluesFor my site see:www.ianatkinson.netleather

Making a Spoon Knife from an old car spring.

Safety first - do not take my working methods as safe practice - I cannot be held responsible for your accidents!Making a special spoon bowl carving tool from an old car spring using blacksmithing and tool making techniques. In this film I show you how to make a very useful and effective spoon bowl hollowing knife, that can also be used for rounding off the bottom of pole lathed wooden bowls and plates. I have used an old car spring as the source of good tool steel for this project, and in the film I take you through the blacksmithing techniques, and the tool hardening and tempering using a gas torch. Finally I give a short demonstration of the tool in use, so that you can see how effective it is. I hope you enjoy this film that was shot on location in a woodland, and back at my workshop.
