In this video, Betty demonstrates how to make her Southern Oven-Baked Pork Chops with Homestyle Gravy recipe. The pork chops are super tasty and the gravy is smooth and velvety--a heart, filling entree! Ingredients: 1.25 pounds of boneless pork chops (about 3 or 4) meat tenderizer, to taste 1 cup flour (for dredging) ground black pepper, to taste 14 cup peanut oil 12 cup flour (leftover from the dredging) 2 cups water 1 vup milk salt, to taste Sprinkle meat tenderizer on top and bottom of all of the boneless pork chops (to taste). Put 1 cup of flour in a zip lock bag for coating the pork chops. Now, put 14 cup peanut oil in an oven-proof skillet and begin heating it. Watch it carefully, and make sure it does not burn or smoke. Now take one pork chop at a time, place them in the flour in the zip lock bag, shake the bag to coat the pork chops with flour, and place the pork chops in the heated peanut oil. Use a fork to turn the pork chops once, when they are beginning to brown, and then place the skillet in an oven that has been preheated to 400 degrees. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, checking occasionally, and turning when it seems appropriate. When the pork chops are done, remove the skillet from the oven and place it back on the cooktop. Remove the pork chops to a serving dish. (You may want to drain any excess oil on paper toweling.) Before making your gravy, discard all of the grease from the skillet, saving only the crumbs that stick. Now, combine 12 cup of flour (leftover from the zip lock bag), and 2 cups of water in the skillet of crumbs. Stir and scrape the mixture in the skillet before you turn on the heat. Add 1 cup of milk and salt to taste, and then place the skillet over medium heat. After a bit, turn the heat to low. Continue to cook and stir, removing all lumps of flour before it gets too hot. Keep cooking the gravy until it is brown and bubbly, and add more water if it thickens too much. When it is done, pour it into a serving bowl, and serve along with the oven baked pork chops. A super entree!!!

Betty s Version of Elvis s Grilled Peanut Butter Banana Sandwich Recip...

In this video, Betty demonstrates how to make her version of Elvis Presley's famous Grilled Peanut Butter and Banana recipe. It is sweet and salty, crispy and chewy--a delight, with even a luscious side dip! Ingredients; 2 slices white or whole wheat bread 4 tablespoons butter, softened to room temperature 1 ripe banana (not over-ripe) 1 tablespoon mayonnaise 2 tablespoons peanut butter 2 slices crisp, cooked bacon (optional) 14 cup brown sugar Spread one side of each of two slices of bread with butter. This will use about 1 tablespoon butter. Place both slices of bread, butter side down, on a hot grill or skillet, and let it brown on the under side. Place the two slices of bread, browned side up, on a sandwich or cutting board. Spread one slice of the browned bread with 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise. Spread the other slice of browned bread with 2 tablespoons peanut butter. Peel a banana, and cut it in half crosswise. Cut each half into long, even slices of banana. Arrange these slices of banana on top of the spread peanut butter. Break the two slices of bacon in half, and arrange the four halves on top of the sliced banana. Now, cover the peanut butter-banana-bacon side with the other slice of bread, with the mayonnaise against the bacon. Spread softened butter on the upper side of the sandwich, place it butter side down in a skillet, and spread softened butter on the last of the four sides of the bread. Turn on the heat under the skillet, and cook slowly, until all flavors are blended, and the sandwich is brown on both sides. Remove from the skillet, and place it on a cutting board, and cut semi-diagonally into two pieces. Place on a serving dish. Garnish: Mix your leftover softened butter with about 14 cup brown sugar. Mash it with a fork until well-blended. Place the mixture alongside the peanut butter and banana sandwich, and use it for dipping the sandwich. It's wonderful! Thank ya! Thank ya very much!

Betty s Asian Vegetables with Soy Sauce Gravy Recipe

In this video, Betty demonstrates how to make her Asian Vegetables with Soy Sauce Gravy recipe. This vegetable dish is attractive and has a very delicate hint of soy sauce flavor. For all soy sauce lovers, feel free to increase the amount of soy sauce in the recipe--and pass the soy sauce at the table! Ingredients: 1 package frozen Asian vegetables (Any type of frozen vegetable or mix of vegetables will work.) 2 tablespoons soy sauce 1 cup water 2 tablespoons butter 2 tablespoons soy sauce (minimum)--You may increase this as desired to satisfy your taste. roasted salted cashews or chow mein noodle for topping (optional) In a medium saucepan, heat 1-inch of water to a full boil. Add the frozen mixed vegetables, and return to a boil. Cook about 3 minutes, until crisp-tender (cooked completely, but retaining their green color and not mushy). While your vegetables are cooking, prepare your soy sauce gravy. In a small saucepan, mix 2 tablespoons cornstarch and 1 cup of water until smooth. Add 2 tablespoons butter and 2 tablespoons (minimum) soy sauce. You may adjust the amount of soy sauce to your taste. Place the soy sauce mixture over medium heat, and bring to a boil. Turn the heat to low, and cook the soy sauce gravy until it is thickened and rich-looking. By now, your vegetables should be done. Drain off the water and place the vegetables in a nice serving dish. You may serve this by pouring the soy sauce gravy over the top and mixing well, or by serving into individual bowls. In either case, you may optionally add a few cashews or chow mein noodle to the top for garnish. This dish can also serve as the base of an entree--just add some pan-fried chicken or beef strips before ladling on the soy sauce gravy--wonderful!!!

Ingredients: 1 12 pounds lean ground beef 1 12 teaspoons salt 12 cup chopped onion 12 cup ketchup + 34 cup ketchup (for topping) 2 well beaten eggs 4 cups cubed bread (Almost any type or combination of leftover breads will do.) Combine 1 12 pounds ground beef, 1 12 teaspoons salt, 12 cup chopped onion, 12 cup ketchup, 2 well-beaten eggs, and 4 cups of cubed bread. Beat with a mixer until well combined. Form into a loaf, and place in a Pyrex (or other oven-proof) loaf pan that has been lined with aluminum foil. Press the meatloaf to fill out all corners of the loaf pan. Cover with a generous amount of ketchup (approximately 34 cup). Cover the top with the aluminum foil, and place meatloaf in an oven that has been preheated to 350 degrees. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes, and then remove the foil from the top. Bake 15 minutes longer, until the meatloaf is bubbly and is set on the top. Remove from the oven, and immediately remove the meatloaf from the aluminum foil, and drain, if needed. Slice (using an electric knife, if possible) into serving slices. Arrange on a platter and serve while hot! A delicious "can't-be-beat" comfort food!!!

Betty s Grilled Boneless Pork Chops Recipe

In this video, Betty demonstrates how to prepare Grilled Boneless Pork Chops. These pork chops are tender and juicy and can be prepared in almost no time! Ingredients: 4 boneless pork chops, about ½-inch thick (You can make as many as your grill will hold!) salt, to taste freshly ground black pepper, to taste extra virgin olive oil (generous amount to cover both sides of pork chops) Heat up your outdoor grill. (You may use an electric kitchen grill, if you prefer.) Salt and pepper pork chops to taste. Drizzle extra virgin olive oil over pork chops. Turn pork chops to coat with olive oil on both sides. Place pork chops on hot grill, and cook until bottom sides are brown. Use tongs to turn all pork chops, and let them continue to bake until brown on both sides. At this point, remove the pork chops and place them on a nice serving platter. Let them rest a bit before cutting into them. To test for doneness, make a cut in the deepest part of one of the pork chops. The meat should be white. If there is any pink showing, the pork chops will need to go back to the grill and cook a bit longer. Pork *must* be cooked all the way through! I served these Grilled Boneless Pork Chops with Wild Rice Bake and Fordhook Lima Beans, with some Potato Chip Cookies for dessert and ice tea to drink! Sooooo good! I hope you enjoy the pork chops! --Betty 

How to Bake Pork Chops in Oven

Sweet & Sour Sauce - http:goo.glFYFC8JI usually cook porch chops in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes to one hour. This depends upon the thickness of the pork chop. Also, always thaw the porck chops before baking them. NEVER EAT UNDER-COOKED PORK!!!! IF THE PORK IS GOOEY ANDOR PINK, BAKE IT LONGER!!! I can not emphasize the importance of not eating undercooked pork =) I usually marinate my pork chops in the fridge overnight while they thaw. Be sure to marinate them in an air-tight container though, otherwise air will get to the pork chops and make them tough! Homemade Shake and Bake! Pork Chop Coating Recipe Noreen s Kitchen

Greetings! I decided to make some pork loin chops for dinner this evening and I was going to use the box of Shake and Bake, because it was quick and easy. I decided to read the ingredients, and while it really wasn't that bad, it still has "spices" and yeast extract and a couple other things that I figured we didn't need. So I'll put this box in the pantry and give it to the food bank when the school has their holiday food drive.I threw together this quick and easy coating mix with little effort and it was simply delicious! I used spices to compliment the pork but you could use this for chicken or even cubed steaks. It was quick easy and delicious. I will use this coating mix from now on and forgo the corporate store bought creation that is kind of expensive to begin with. You can use good quality store bought bread crumbs or some of your own homemade bread crumbs along with spices of your choice. I used about 2 cups of bread crumb and 1 teaspoon each of salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning and poultry seasoning. I also added 1 tablespoon of sunflower oil and blended it all up in a plastic bag until it looked just like the store bought stuff. I simply used it like I would the regular coating mix, and baked my pork chops for 30 minutes. They were succulent and flavorful!I hope you give this idea a try the next time you want to "oven fry" a delicious cut of meat like pork chops, chicken or even round steak!I hope you try this and I hope you love it!Happy Eating!Homemade Shake and Bake Mix, Shake and Bake, Homemade Pork Chop Coating, Oven Coating Mix, Oven Fried Pork Chops, Seasoned Bread Crumbs, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Italian Seasoning, Poultry Seasoning, Pink Salt, Cracked Black Pepper, Sunflower Oil, Quick and Easy, Economical, Budget Friendly, Make Your Own, Make a Mix, Kitchen, Food, Cooking, Eating, Recipe, Recipes, Howto, How to, How-to, YouTube, Tutorial, Food Storage, Pantry Ideas, Corporate Food, Learn to Cook, Noreen's Kitchen, Homemade, Home Made, Noreen, Atticus9799
